The UEFA Champions Festival in Heroes’ Square

Nothing beats the Champions Festival held in the Heroes’ Square (Hősök tere), as it was truly the hub of all the extra-stadium festivities. The Heroes’ Square is one of the most iconic historical squares in Hungary that is always full of pride in its national glory, which turned out to be an immense sports village open to all for free. The festival program catered to both hardcore football fans and the family-type fans seeking enjoyment together. Located in the middle of the square was the official Champions League trophy, where anyone had an amazing opportunity to pose for a memorable picture holding the much-coveted trophy. Around it were different zones dedicated to fans, including small-sided pitches with fierce global fan competitions. Additionally, there were interactive sponsor booths where everyone could measure his/her shot power, accuracy, and agility through digital tracking screens. For the celebration, there were a lot of spots where you could take a photo, there where even the seats similar to those that are used in real games. As time progressed, however, music played a crucial part in creating a bond between the crowds at the main stage. The music was amazing with live acts involving orchestral bands playing football anthems along with classical pieces, to large DJ sets that transformed the historic square into a festival ground after dark.
